We’ll work with Leadership Mission International (LMI), a non-profit Christian organization, to train women in Honduras with skills to help them launch their businesses upon graduation. Women in Honduras have little to no access to education and other opportunities to build a life independent of corruption and drug trade. Through LMI, women are enrolled in a two-year program where they learn English, business and leadership skills, and are surrounded by a community centered on Jesus—all completely free!
We’ll be helping with chores on their sustainable farm, cooking, and helping teach English through conversations and hearing stories. Our trip will also utilize any special skills our team has to pass along to the women (construction, sewing, photography, technology, fitness, etc.).
The location is remote within a large national forest, with only two small dirt roads leading in and out of the vast region. The forest is one of the largest income sources to the government, so it is carefully guarded and staff and students feel well-protected and safe while learning.
Applications are required for these trips as space is limited.
